Startup Funding Readiness Guide

A framework to help startups prepare for funding conversations and verify scheme criteria.

Funding readiness starts with a clear business case, not simply finding a scheme. Public programmes and lenders apply their own criteria and selection processes.

Prepare your core information

  • Problem, customer, product and evidence of demand.
  • Business model, pricing assumptions and route to market.
  • Founder and entity details relevant to the programme.
  • Financial records, projections and use-of-funds explanation.
  • Milestones, risks and a realistic operating plan.

Verify before applying

Use the official scheme or lender source to confirm eligibility, current application window, eligible costs, required documents, amounts and whether the support is a grant, debt, equity or another instrument.

Avoid unrealistic promises

No consultant can guarantee selection, funding approval or disbursal. Ask for a written scope that explains what application-preparation support includes and which costs are separate.
